You would have to convince Dave back into bringing livestock other then just coral first.

And to answer the question running through your head right now Levi.........

YES, I am still in the road heading home but only for another 10 min.

All the unopened frags are still closed, the colony was a indo $hit mix looks like nuclears, packers, among a few interesting morphotypes.

Couldn't pass on the Concept price though, hard to believe they are coming out with a discount program on their already low priced pieces!

So. My excess nutrient/detritus theory was 110% correct. Lights are off I decided to peek in with a flashlight.. what do I see? The biggest bristle worm I've ever laid eyes on, easily 6"+ long

Put a Maxijet on the bottom of the tank to keep detritus suspended for my skimmer. Hopefully I can starve the bugger cause i doubt I'm Gonna catch him.

Well look at the bright side, at least it's better to freeze the doors while in it. A hard shove usually does the trick, but if you're on the outside broken door handles would probably have been more likely.

I had no idea they were nasty! I even asked Neal before I brought him home!
I named him Sashimi because if I ever catch him....

On a side note I found my emerald crab upside down in the back of the tank and the new urchin has constructed the most lovely hat.

About Glue...I use model glue (crazy glue, We build plastic models so...)after I compared the ingredients to coral glue and found them identical I usually hit it with a spray that makes the glue cure faster or so it claims. The day I buy a 20.00 bottle of crazy glue...its right up their with buying 20.00 media bags and filter socks...oh and "special" plastic aquarium mesh,50.00 algae scrapers too!!!

Just got off the phone with my Transmission shop owner bud
Good ol' Chrysler is still making disposable trannys, so even if your case wasn't cracked, you'd be in the same boat
The prices you mentioned aren't so far out of whack
Try to get a warranty of some kind on the used unit and cross your fingers it was well taken care of with low miles

Chrysler trannys do last a long time, they're just not rebuildable, so don't fret the used one

Nano

So sick of my job. The last six months I've been trying to do the work of two trucks. I run a vac truck. The money is great but 300 hours a month with only 4 days off is killing me. I get **** on buy consultants and I'm told to take it. I am told to sleep in my truck rather than them find me some relief. Told I can't take holidays for the sixth year in a row. The company was great before but now it's big and the boss grows ignorant. I just want to quit and leave it all behind.

Time to talk to the bank about a business loan and buy your own vac truck. They are always in high demand. You may not get any more time off but it will at least be much more gratifying.

I hear that, I used to work for a company that built vac trucks... Nothing but glorified a-holes. I asked for time off when my baby was born (just 2 days nothing major) I got in deep s*** when I came back. Went to HR about it to find out what the big problem was being there for the birth of my first born, she called the boss in and I was threatened with lay off if I was so much as late again.. this is after 8 months of being 15 minutes early and leaving 15-30 minutes late each day, and I never missed a day except the ones I asked for.. family definitely isn't priority for them.

IMO if your in a position to do so, look for something a little more flexible in that sense.

That's another issue. I was to be 30% ownership of this truck when I got it new. My boss and I had a agreement and when I was to pay my share he cut me out and said maybe in five years😡

A combo unit right now is $450,000. And with the industry having core standards its to much money to write a saftey program. I was going to buy one this year and my boss told me he wouldn't contract me. The thing is that when myself and friend approached this company they had no vac truck work and we brought our customers with us. If I can manage to stay local. He knows the work will leave with me. And I won't go back up north. I've applied for a local operators job with oil company and have had more than my share of job offers but I don't want to jump around. I worked up north for 10 years and want to stay local now. I think really all I need is a holiday. I have one planned for march but that's not soon enough.

Rant over😉

I have a job offer on the plate now. A company has askd me 5 times already and again today. I would only work 14 days a month. Which is awsome but I'd loose 25,000 a year. Moneys not everything and the kids would like me home more

I hear you. I was up in Fort Mac for 5 years making really good money then along came the family and I basically took a temporary $80,000 year hit to start all over with something new. I'm making pretty good money now and I'm home every night with the wife and kids and the extra money up north just doesn't buy that type of thing.

Yeah I spent most my time in northern bc. Drilling rigs love the work love the money. Same story family came and I came home. I'm home daily but lots of time it's well after kids are in bed. Dec slows down for me so there a little more time for the family

WHY did you all keep this hobby a secret from me for so many years ?

Had I known I could have so much fun scrubbing coralline from the glass; cleaning skimmers; removing vermatids, derbesia, bryopsis, cladophoropsis, bubble algae, aiptasia, mojano and other pests; dealing with equipment malfunctions, failures and upgrades; plus all the unexpected costs of keeping a reef ... I would have started one when I was younger
If only someone had told me years ago about this hobby, I would have certainly been certifiable long before now :silly::twised:

Have you tried hydrasense (aka saline solution)? I've had very good luck with it in the past when my son was congested. Nursing a congested baby is hell. If you don't want to run out and buy hydrasense there are plenty of recipes to make it online however it must be used within 3 days or so.

Right. Post count is often looked at by new members as a way to gauge experience of the poster giving advice. So we've removed the post padding posts from the total count. Buy/sell posts as well. Giving it a try. If it's dumb, we can turn it back on and refresh count, returning all the previous numbers. But some people here have a billion posts and nothing important to say, or very little experience. I thought it was a good idea. We'll see :)

is it too much to believe that possibly our posts have been removed and sold on the black market to newbies wanting high post counts??

kinda questions post security now adays dont it , i mean whats in the future for my posts?

whats canreef doing to do to guarntee my posts havent gone to another member or sold to the highest bidder??

yesterday was editting, today was posts ....tomorrow its the end of the world??

is titus keeping the posts in a bunker and waiting out the end of the world, only to return with more posts then anyone...whos alive ....who really knows..untill their all gone:P

Well geez I'm sure glad you're not naming names buddy :)

Why not give everyone a million posts and have it count back to zero when they reach zero they are banned

The old me would have that accomplished in about a week and a half, but I too have matured and will move forward with what I think should be (but can't take credit for) the new credo of the site " an air of maturity" :twised:

I was surprised, well maybe a little disappointed when I realized I still had about 2/3 of my posts left. It must have been from my bashful early days. Nothing to learn here folks move along.

Sometimes I hate having animals....It's very hard to find a house sitter in this city that doesn't charge an arm and a leg... I found one person to look after my dogs in my house, but won't deal with my fish tanks, geckos or cats... so I then had to ask another friend to come every second day and deal with everything but the dogs... PLUS.. the person staying at my house, I have to pay $250 and all she is doing is letting my dogs out. she'll still be eating my food, using my electricty, t.v., laundry and such, won't clean a litter box even.... so frustrating... I need to find more friends in edmonton.

Have you tried relabelling your home as a zoo? This way you could maybe ask for volunteers to come help out with animal research and things of that nature. Zoos bring in animal loving volunteers all the time.

That's ridiculous! When we lived in Fort McMurray I had a girl up the street drop in for $25 per day and she walked our dog too. Could you try asking a neighbour? I'd help out if I lived closer but my price tag as it stands would be higher that the quote you already have.

ya slightly!!!! she offered to do it... then once she knew we were in a bind, asked for money.... well no first she asked for a $300 coffee maker... not really a friend... but i don't trust kennels, and one of my dogs is much too small to go to a kennel. all my dogs would have to be housed together somehow... and kennels are $400+
