Default Selling off surplus equipment

I may be adding more items to this thread as I get a chance to sort through the monolithic pile of "equipment that I bought because I couldn't live without it and then never put it to use", or "used it, but am not using it anymore, and have no real plans to use it at this time."

1. Calcium reactor #1 [PENDING]

Made in the days that Ocean Aquatics made their own equipment. "Aquatic Essentials" or something. Two stage reactor (two physical pieces). I've modified the first stage to have a probe holder in case you want to use a pH controller. This can be plugged with a PVC plug in case you don't want to use a pH controller. The first stage has a CO2 recirculation line.

The second stage was modified by me to use more screws. Over time the acrylic flange warped and would not seal so I doubled up the nylon screws except I don't have the means to make keyhole flanges, I don't have the means to make tapped holes, so it's not a pretty thing. But at least it doesn't leak anymore.

Edit: forgot to mention that this includes a Mag2 pump.

Asking $100.

2. Calcium reactor #2 [PENDING]

A DIY job (not by me though) that looks an awful lot like the Aquatic Essentials reactor but has a square flange and is smaller. (12"x4" tube). No CO2 recirculation line but could easily be modded to include one by anyone reasonably handy.

Edit: Again, forgot to mention this includes Mag2 pump.

Asking $80.

3. Milwaulkee pH Controller [SOLD]

Never used, still in box. Bought it second hand from a guy who never used it either. So it's nowhere near new but may as well be.

Asking $80.

Ooops, forgot to take a picture. Will have to get to it later. For now, imagine a white cardboard box. (I guess I should really take it out of the box at some point..)

4. Milwaulkee CO2 regulator, solenoid, bubble counter and needle valve. [PENDING]

Say what you want about them but it worked fine for me. It's not pretty, has some surface corrosion but I've seen worse.

More info here: http://oceanaquatics.com/store/produ...CO2-Regulator/

Asking $50.

5. 20lb CO2 cylinder. [PENDING]

Hydrostat tested in 2005, which is supposed to be good for 5 years. Having said that, in the interest of full disclosure, the last time I used it, it went empty faster than I expected it to. I'm not sure what's up with that. It may be because it's an old drink machine CO2 tank and it has a handle thing around the throat which makes it awkward to properly attach the regulator.

Currently empty.

Asking $80.

6. 10lb CO2 cylinder. [PENDING]

Painted red, hydrostat tested in 2005. Has at least a partial fill. Basically I filled it, used a reactor for a few weeks and then took the reactor offline because .. well, to be honest I thought I'd have shut the tank down by now anyhow.

Asking $80.

7. "DJ88 design square calcium reactor." [PENDING]

This probably shouldn't even be listed. It's a real Frankenstein and has been scavenged for parts (mainly the copious number of nylon screws that was used for the flange) over the years. Having said that it may be a good donor for scrap acrylic or could be made into a reactor once more by someone willing to find it some nylon screws and it should be mentioned that said person will have to be OK with filling it with at least 4 containers of ARM because this thing is huuuuuuuge (I built it during my "bigger must be better" phase). For those who have been around long enough to know what the following means ... it's a twin model of Canadian_Man's reactor he had on his 230g tank (we made them together .. by "made it together" I mean "we used Jonathan's tools and most of the acrylic came from Jonathan and Jonathan did most of the work but I DID provide the copious number of nylon screws, and the flange material and some of the PVC work.")

Uhhhhh ... Asking $5. Really. Just get the dang thing out of my basement. We can talk about financing terms if the asking price is too high. I can also be bribed with Tim Horton's Double-Doubles.

8. 150W DE halide fixture

A sort of Aquamedic knock-off. Fixture and ballast, cover glass included. Lamp included too but I have no idea what it is nor how many hours of usage it has. For those of you who've been around long enough to know what this means, this is a Dez-built DIY.

Asking $80.

....

Willing to wheel-n-deal if you want to take a few things at once, ie., like everything you need if you want a calcium reactor. I can also make sure you go home with enough reactor media to fill the things.

I believe that Tony may be trying to corner the market on CA Reactors.
