Shelley, I think the wavebox is designed for supplemental flow so you need extra pumps. That being said, previously I was running 2 6060s and a 6045 in my tank while currently I'm just running one 6060 (less corals than previously and I've been lazy about getting everything back in the tank) and everything is groovy.

Myka, the coral in question was about 3" from the wavebox. I'd say 6" is your minimum distance. Just have a look at the coral, if its polyps are being plastered back by the wave, its probably too close. Unless of course its a milli, those things love crazy strong flow
