Who has a Wavebox on a tank less than 100 gallons?
 

Anyone have a Wavebox 6212 on a smaller tank? I don't mean the Nano Wavebox, the full size.

I just got a 6212, and put it on my 90. I haven't been messing around with it for very long yet, but it seems like I have it turned down as low as it will go, and it seems to still be thrashing the LPS around a bit. I'm wondering if I should have gone for the Nano instead.

Thoughts?

Mindy try asking on the tunze forum on RC IF you can just swap the 24v jumper with 15v one so it runs with less flow. If so I can mail you the one I'm not using with my 6101 stream.

That's a good idea. I do know someone locally who has a Nano that is looking for the 6212, so I think a trade would be fairly easy. I just want to try to get this one to do the trick for me first though.

I have a wavebox in my 90 gallon. The tank has a corner overflow. The wavebox is mounted slightly more towards the front of the tank on the same side as the overflow. The wavebox is cranked up to full power and the pulse is longish, so its on longer than its off I don't really have much in the way of LPS though. Most of my LPS are small pieces and are at the bottom of the tank.

Not really sure what to tell you, for me it was all about placement. I did manage to blow the tissue off one of my SPS colonies due to poor placement on my part. Those colonies that were having any issues were either moved or I moved the wavebox more forward until the wave action was less direct.

Thanks Christie! I have mine on the opposite end as the overflow, but I was thinking it might work better on the same side as the overflow. Right now I have the pump turned as low as it will go, and the wave action almost as fast as it will go. It seems the wave is either tidal wave-like or non-existent. :lol:

I found having the wavebox opposite to the overflow made the wave too short. I think we're pushing it on a 4' tank as it is and even 6" shorter seems to make a difference in the wave.

I've seen a full sized wavebox on something as small as a 65 gallon before and it produced a wave just fine. When I was doing some trouble shooting on mine I had it in a 33 gallon and it also made a wave. It's all a matter of tuning which can be quite time consuming.

I used to have a original large wavebox in 36" long tank.
It did produce wave just fine.
