Default Avatars...And Anal People.

All i can say, is this board is not an episode of mister rogers.

To those whom have nothing better to do with there time, than to sit and analyze peoples Avatars, i would ask that you flip to channel 3 and finish watching an episode of it.

My avatar is of a couple of youths, one of whom has place his fingers where they dont belong, and are seemingly stuck.

If this had happened in your neighborhood park, and you were watching, you would have a good chuckle. You would NOT go and ask the youth to please refrain from doing so, so please dont ask the same from me.

Get over it.

I will remove it , but not for the sake of a bunch of Anal People, but for Titus and the moderators.

Jeeez,

Jeeez,
I am the one who complained about your avatar.

Every time I see it I am reminded of a family issue that involves a brother of mine and our father.

Maybe to you it is clear what those two kids are doing, but to me it is not clear.

Further to this…just because it is two kids makes this picture okay? Clearly if it were an adult and a kid this would constitute child porn. I really don’t see a difference. The avatar involves two human beings, period.

I’m still pretty new to this board, and it is actually the first internet forum I have ever participated in, but it has quickly become apparent to me that this method of communicating with other people seems to bring out a lack of compassion and regard for those other people.
We are sitting in front of machines rather than having these people in front of us face to face. I think this desensitizes us and causes us to be a little bolder in what we say and express, than we normally would. I ask you, Fudge, would you prominently display that picture on a wall in your home for your guests to see? I tend to think not. So why is it appropriate here? Personally, I don’t think it is.

I’m sorry you disagree with me.

BTW, thanx for your response re: my question about the R/O TDS meter reading thing.

seriously jr, get some ad blocking software for your browser so you can click on pic you don't like and block it so the rest of us aren’t subject to your moral compass.

Is there something wrong with having morals today? This is a family board by the way, where children are free to browse if they want. I personally don't want to contribute to the moral break down of our society any more, do you guys?

BTW moderators, what was wrong with Deb's avatar?

To Fudge and all,

I am aware of anti spyware and pop up blocker softwares, but I was not aware of software that allows one to actually select a specific picture to block, as Willow has suggested.

I realize that I am not going to change the world, or even this board for that matter, with my “moral compass”. Having said that, I do not have a problem with Fudge’s avatar being on the board, as long as I can block it myself.

Therefore…

To Titus and Fudge,
Personally, in light of this new information, I do not have a problem with Fudge’s avatar being reinstated. I will look into purchasing the software that Willow has suggested. (Had this been brought up when Willow’s avatar was in question my complaint would not have been brought forth, but I do not wish to pass the buck).
Please accept my apologies for creating this ruckus. I know that people’s avatars are a “signature” so to speak and my intent was not to destroy Fudge’s identity in that regard. I just simply did not want to have to see, and for that I will get the software.

Thanx and sorry for the mess.

P.S. Titus…I know you want to keep the board predominantly on reefkeeping and I will try to stick to that from now on.

P.S #2. I suppose some of you will see this as a flip flop. Well so be it.
Again, little ol' me ain't gonna change the world.
