Default Halide Bulbs in Calgary

Where is the best place to get Bulbs in town. I am a Anti-Creditcard guy so on-line is not really an option. I am looking for 2 400 watt Bulbs.

Also colour spectrum. 6500 K are available at Quick Grow. would I be terribly unhappy with these if I had Actintic (SP?) supplimentation? These things are really cheap compared to the "Aquatic" types. I don't currently have any SPS, Although who knows what may pop up on the rock I am getting from Alan Perhaps I should just go with the 20K bulbs, then supplimentation will not be required

Hey Robb, any where in Calgary that you could buy MH bulbs is going to be way over priced compared to online stores.

Afraid I have to concur on that one. MO is the way to go for lamps. I've gotten my bulbs from J&L, saltwaterconnection.com and premiumaquatics.com. Another place to check is oceanaquatics.com. Maybe see if they can invoice you and you can then send them a cheque instead of using a credit card. Or perhaps paypal or interac email transfers. Can't hurt to ask!

Try Ivan at aquaria.ca - he has let me use e-transfers before. If you have online banking, you're good to go. And he has those Arc MH bulbs at reduced prices. They seem to love 'em in central Canada...

I was going to use 400', as they are the Cheapest, most common ballasts. The Tank is Alans (soon to be my) 110. The origional plan was for 2 400 watt mounted high so the spread would cover the full length of the tank, however for this price I can get 3 150 watt DE bulbs, to cover the six feet of length.

3 of those over a 20" deep, 6-ft tank will be sweet.
