Default Recent Order Questions...

Well I placed an order and it arrived today. I ordered a Royal Gramma, which looked fine, but has dissapeared 1 minute after putting him in the tank... Is this normal? and will he come out?

I had orderd a Neon green mushroom frag, and a Green Star Polyp - Thick branch frag as well...
The pictures looked nice, hense the reason I ordered them. However, when I recieved them they look like a few sad pieces of dead corals... I don't know what to think. Are all "frags" this bad looking, and will they grow? Could it be the shipping... it was shipped in less than one day though. Or is this just the way all frags look..

Here is what I thought I was going to recieve:

And I recieved this:

The right is supposed to be the Star polyp, and left the mushroom which look nothing like thier pictures...

The image on the left is the GSP, and it will probably take a day or two for the polyps to extend. On the right is a mushroom, which certainly looks like a nice neon green mushroom. It will expand and grow. I'd say you got (more or less) what you bargained for.

The star polyps are not extended in the second pic. It might take a day or more for it to settle into its new home. Shouldn't be a problem.

Grammas usually take a day or two to "acclimate" to their new surroundings. You probably won't see him until later on tonight or possbly tomorrow.

Ok, well I believe I ordered from a respectable company. However I have never ordered corals/frags before, so I was unsure. Hopefully they will look better soon.

Should I order a "real" coral next time and not just a frag? Would it look better when I recieved it...?

Looks like a nice shroom there. The GSP will take a few days to open I received some 10 days ago (Thanks Bev) Wednesday one finally opened and today the other has some polyps open
In the 1st pic the egg crate it is sitting on the squares are about 1/2 inch by1/2 inch looks like you got what you paid for. I know macro shots can make things like huge and amazing, just look at some of the amazing nano closeups then find find out it is a 10g but your mind thinks its 110g

Most corals, especially softies will be closed and shriveled when you receive them. A day or two in the tank and they should come back no problems.

The only difference between a "real" coral and a frag (as you put it) is the size and the price. Both will probably look the same after shipping.

So do you think that is the exact frag in the picture?

Where in the tank would be the best place to put them... on the sandbed, in a cave or on a rock.

Thanks for your help everyone I'll keep watching and hopefully the GSP and shroom will open up a bit

that pic on the top is sitting on a frag plug, the one you got looks like its mounted to a rock so i don't think it's the same one. it will encrust onto anything you put it over so choose wisely what you want covered. like other have said it will take a few days to open up.

Doesn't look like it. The rock or plug its mounted on looks different.

I keep my GSP on the sandbed lest it take over the entire tank...
As for the mushrooms Im not a huge fan so I don't really keep them.
