Default Moving tank across room

I'm getting ready to my 160 bow front to a different wall in my rec room, I'm trying to find a solution for all the water. I thought I had more tubs but there all in use in storage, if it possible to stick my water in the bathtub during the move? I have about 50g worth of storage and proably another 40 or so waiting in my mix chamber. I can go buy new totes but I don't want to spend 100$ on tubs I won't need after

I'd wouldn't do it. Soup scum from your bath tub would contaminate the water. Why not borrow some buckets, bins or garbage cans from other hobbyists in your area? Someone may even have a stock trough that they're not using. Locally there are a couple of stock troughs that people bought solely for tank moves that are passed around from time to time.

Ya definitely don't use the bath tub as previously mentioned soap scum, chemicals used in the plumbing etc.

Hmmm, that's a great idea. I'll have to use this when it's time to move our tank.

I moved a 120g literally two feet, cleaned rock a bit, removed sand, and re-ran my electrical and it took almost seven hours in total start to finish. I had 150g inn tubs (thought I had a lot) and ran out of tubs. Used some buckets. I also planned on using my water over again and only had 50 gallons extra water. Ran out of than too. Had to make r/o to top up last 10 gallons (thankfully I had aquaforest salt that mixes fast). I would definitely ask local reefers for buckets/tubs, powerheads, heaters etc. and help. There was two of us but needed more hands to speed it up.

I remember when I upgraded my tank and move to a new location across the room. Took way longer than expected and my tank ended up crashing n killed almost everything. Pretty rough.
