Default Well, I finally got it up and running (new tank -- pics)

Hopefully, I'll be able to find some live rock lying around the place to toss in there tommorow. I'll try to get pics of my ghetto rigged baffle too!

Very cool idea! Are you going to paint the back wall or wait for coraline to cover it? Check out Rich's tank for a visual.

I thought about painting it, but the tank was taking me long enough to get running as it was. I'll just hook up a calc reactor and use kalk for coralline acceleration.

I didn't make it, but basically Rich used that sealant type foam and plugged some rocks into it. Then he used about 5 different colors of marine paint to give a coraline effect. There are various rocks jutting out of the wall that can be used for putting frags on. Apparently there is already coraline growing on the wall after only a couple of weeks.

Well, I just bastardized some of my other tanks for rocks. I'll take some pics once the water has cleared up.

One thing that kinda got to me though was how hard it was to work with the rock since the tank was already so thin to begin with (12") and the foam took up a bit more space then I anticipated. I'll probably pick up some more suitable pieces tommorow.

Now to think about what I'm going to throw in there....

I see it looks really neat, is it very heavy once finished, and where do you get marine paint?
