That's a WOW for sure Christy. Coming for the Vancouver Aquarium behind the scenes tour on the 24th?

How the heck do you get such good close ups everyone! Either the fish won't stay still or my camera settings are wrong. I need some tips!

Thanks guys. The hawk is a real ham in front of the camera thats for sure.

Anthony, I won't be making the Aquarium trip unfortunately. I've done the behind the scenes tour before but I'm sorry I'll be missing out on meeting some new people

Danny, I don't know what kind of camera you're using by my nikon has a macro setting on it. I can get within 3 cm (sometimes closer) of my subject. I have my camera set at 400 ISO and to be frank, I take about 20 shots to get one good one. Sometimes up to 60 shots. Perching fishes are always easy to catch on camera if you're at the ready. This little guy is easy to photograph but I think I only have one decent clear shot of my scopas tang and twin spot wrasse. My camera just isn't fast enough for them.

Thanks for the tip Chrsty, is that whole iso thing that I haven't mastered yet. I've only had my camera a short while and usually only use the auto settings. I do have macro zoom on mine as well, I guess I should read the manual.

Hehe, my manual is about 200 pages and a real snore. I've read it many times and I'm still discovering new things about my camera even after I've had it for 3 yrs . Definitely look into that ISO thing. I couldn't get any decent fish pics until I figured it out (about a year ago ).
