Montipora eating nudibranch, one of the most annoying pest in the hobby, sorry bud.

From what I know, most people end up making frags of their monti's, and QTing them for a couple months, leaving the display free of any montipora so the nudi's can starve. They generally target caps first, but can even move on to digi, and setosa as well. In the QT, I think you should be dipping the frags once a week/inspect to make sure there's no eggs/nudi's on them.

If you see a couple, that means they've been laying eggs, and dips will only knock off/stun the adults, but the eggs are the important part.

F.H. is right, those buggers are terrible. If you can easily replace these Montis (the ones you mention are common), I'd pull them all out of your tank and throw them in the garbage. You probably have them growing on the rocks, and those bits you probably can't remove. Once the Montis eat all the remaining bits, then start your countdown - a couple months without Montis should be fine. Their life cycle is less than 2 weeks, so if you wait 3-4 life cycles you should be plenty in the clear.

What are the chances of a wrasse decimating them

Damn I was fearing it was gonna be nudis. Luckily I don't have many montis n y digis r almost all dead now. I did see them on my Valida a few weeks ago but it did no damage at all and I don't Rly see them on it no more. Do they target acros?

Ive had good luck getting rid of monti , and zoa eating nudis with a yellow corris wrasse and a turkey baster to blow nudis out of the cracks and crevices of the corals . There like candy to them .

Slim, they'll generally keep them in check but won't usually get rid of them
