Do you think 2 mp60 are to much for a 90 gallon tank?

Way overkill. If you want to add some more "under toe" to your tank, you can add an MP10 and you'll have way more flow that you need.

So the MP40 makes a decent change in flow and noise.. but how about the MP10?

Is there a big difference in noise in the MP10ES vs the MP10QD?

Im testing out a MP10WES right now and i find the whirl sound of the dry side to be noticeably loud from a few feet away..

The MP10 is quietened further with the upgrade of the MP10-QD driver this is the only component that needs to be changed from MP10ES(or W) to MP10QD

I just performed the upgrade from the ES to QD this afternoon and wow, it actually does make a noticeable difference! I'm very sensitive to noises, and the MP10 was the loudest part of my tank. I had it on Reef Crest at the 3rd "dot" and could still hear it.

It is now barely audible. I mean it too. I know a lot of people say their MP10 is quiet, but mine was loud (I have gone through three of them, and all sounded the same)

The QD isn't a gimmick, I say go for it, if the current noise bothers you.
