i just made sure my 400 was really well cycled before i transferred all my livestock from my 97. i just tried to make my levels and temp as close as possible. was like doing a 100% water change really. just moved rocks and corals and was done. my colours really took off too afterwards. i didn't do anything special i just moved everything and dropped it in.

K I'll try to use as much of my tank water as I can. So if I do that the water in my new tank right now I can just put that in bins wih power head n save that for future water changes right?

I would dump the new old water I think trying to keep that water is just being cheap. but I also would just match the new water to be close to the same and use it.i have never used old water in new tank and never really had issues like lastlight said just make sure it's cycled long enough.

I used prodibio startup along with all new rock that I had been cycling in a garbage can for about 10 Months along with new sand and it went flawlessly. The new tank was up for 5 days before the move.

Dropped a hermit into the tank last night no acclimation or anything to see if it survives. N yes this morning it's still strong as ever. Grabbed on the rocks with a lot of strength when I tried to pull it off lol. Ima drop a snail in soon and if that survives without acclimation I'm sure I'm good
