Eric from TGVAS is now a pest technician. He is doing two of my buildings. You could send him a PM there?

My dog has picked them up when at my parents. We usually just give him a flea bath and throw a flea collar on him, they disappear fairly fast. Never had a bad case of it though so not much help! Maybe talk to your vet and see what advice they can offer!

Diatomaceous Earth seems to be the go to thing my pest control company uses.

If you decide to go this route I have a huge bag of the stuff. I use it in my vortex filter. I bought it at a pool supply store.
