![]() We don't base any of our TOTMs on certain criteria. Mostly we just look around on various threads and whoever has posted tank pics recently gets thrown in the pile. We like to feature active members and not base anything on tank size, contents etc. Mostly if we see a nice looking/unique/techy etc tank by an active member we feature it. It seems to me we have less people posting photos of their tanks but I dunno, maybe I'm just not paying attention enough
![]() As for various other things like featured member and such, its just a matter of time that we don't seem to have anymore. Four out of the five moderators have small children that just take up too much of our time at the moment so a few things, like the TOTM, have had to be scaled back. I used to have a ton of free time for things like TOTM and the reference library but man, kids just suck whatever free time you have. Definitely keep the ideas coming though, its likely we can pull some of them off on a smaller scale. I am really liking a quarterly featured member idea, even if its just a nomination and tag next to their name ![]()

![]() I find the same thing also that is why I suggested having some modest criteria now and then so people who don't have extravagant tanks may feel more inclined to post pics of their tanks. It doesn't have to be through TOTM though, there could be other incentives.

![]() Personally, I love the look of a good mature SPS tank but I do try specifically to avoid selecting SPS-only tanks repeatedly because not everyone is into that, so we do try to at least alternate with something else.
We don't specifically target large tanks... The last one I put up wasn't a particularly large setup and it wasn't that long ago ![]()

![]() It's also a case of the staff can't read all the threads, and we do miss a lot of tank journal posts. If anyone thinks a smaller tank (or any tank) is worthy, please send one of us a note.
