I got a 52" Sharp Aquos LED just before Christmas. Shopped around and Visions is the only place to buy one. I think I saw someone reply in here to go to Costco. They easily were the most expensive place out there. The deal I got on this tv from Visions blew ever their own Boxing Day price out of the water. A $1500 set for $960. I think they're going for about $1200 now.

We have the LG 55" 3D smart TV - don't use the 3D much at all but love the smart TV capabilities. The only thing that we regret is not going bigger.
With new tech. coming out soon you should be able to get a sweet deal on last years model?

I have the Samsung smart 55 7500 series (basically same as 8000 but black frame) and it uses passive glasses not active. I haven't used the 3D, got it cause it seems to be the TV with the lowest profile and has vertically no frame. Hung it on the wall with a French cleet, much less obtrusive than other options. Love it so far.

I love my Panasonic Plasma GT55! It's very fluid. IMO very sharp pictures. It is active 3d and I've used it a handful of times watching 3d movies and I must say its very hard on the eyes. And with 3d gaming, I can last no more than one hour tops.. I get crazy eye fatigue.

For 2D its a great TV.. 3D not such much.

I have an LG with passive 3d as an option and love it...I just keep my glasses from the theatre when I go so they are free .
Just wondering if anyone uses a projector as an everyday tv and if so how are you finding bulb life. Which projectors do you use?...Man cave is in development.

We've got a 60 inch Sony Bravia in replacement for our old rear proection Bravia. Those recalls you are referring to was due to a class.action suit with the arbitrator ruling against Sony, hence all of the recalls.

Our new Bravia is less than an inch thick, has led lights NOT plasma, is direct to the internet and works off of our wi-fi connection so no need for cable or satellite, just use a torrent site to live stream or play movies from Youtube, it has a direct link button to Netflix, very little judder with Motionflow XR.240, 1080p HD resolution. I can literally surf Canreef off of my 60 inch screen.

All of our home theatre components are Sony as well, so no toggling back and forth with the remotes. One operates them all. It has a motion sensor and switches of automatically, the 3D glasses are great but expensive (100 a pop) and only works on movies shot in 3D.

i have a optoma hd65 its awesome have had it for 4 years, i have it projecting onto a 170in screen. you need a dedicated room that is pitch black or your picture quality is not the best. As for bulb life im not sure i used to use it daily but now not so much im at 380 hours. the bulbs are good for 4000 and they are a couple hundred to replace. bluray movies look amazing on it.
And i have 2 samsung smart tvs they are awesome as well!

Solutions are easy. The real difficulty lies in discovering the problem.

If money is not an issue go with the new Sharp Aquos otherwise I would recommend LG which is what I am currently using. Great value and price.
