Default Noise cancelling device for my sump room

What I would like to see is some kind of device that you could place in your sump room that would cancel out all the sounds from the pumps. I have noise cancelling headsets for my airplane, and they work great (cancels out the engine and prop noise). So can't see why such a device couldn't work with pumps.

With computers and software capabilities that we have today, it should be easy to analyze the sound wavelengths from pumps (very steady rhythm) and produce wavelengths that would cancel out those sounds. They have been doing this with headsets for a long time now.

Solutions are easy. The real difficulty lies in discovering the problem.
