When I had mine I took one of the plastic containers that some of the lfs use to package coral and drilled tiny holes all around it for water flow and set it in my sump.The baby's stayed there until they were bigger and then I sectioned off a piece of my sump just for them,, I can't help you with the food issue.. Mine would only eat live baby brine..I was never ale to get them to eat anything.
