Calgary has two treatment plants and numerous reservoirs. Just about every athletic park built in the last 10 years is over a reservoir. Turbidity etc all fluctuate depending on where in the city you are. Also if you are on a hill or not. Ie coach hill vs bowness. All water lines are tied into each other somewhere down the line. And as far as city water systems go Calgary is raked very high in the world for water quality. The labs tested 14 brands of bottled water and 9 failed federal regulations for a plumbed system.

I "thimk" I'll be buying bottled from now on........
When I looked up some specs on Calgary water it indicated that RUNOFF (uh oh) runs into the reservoirs. (And then we use it? Are you kidding?)
You're going to be doing some serious filtering even for personal use. I'm surprised local stores aren't selling "prepared" sea water. Or are they? Now I understand the trend to nano tanks; buy your water and start there; at work we're on a well system toward Langdon (southeast Foothills) and I wouldn't add that water to my radiator. It might explode.
