The clam was from Steve at red coral and unfortunately I make less a month (working only Saturdays) then the $200 clam
I still would like to work for AI though. They seem to have the best selection in town. If they don't pay me enough, I will just use my "two-finger" employee discount

Pretty sure that's frowned upon.

These maximas are amazing and, BTW Laurie, yours is spectacular. I was waiting for this shipment a long time myself. Snagged one myself, I'm quite fond of it, even though it put me in the doghouse for a bit on account of cost. (I should get a picture up soon I guess.) But it was nice to be able to actually participate in a shipment for a change, for a guy like me who's chained to a desk all day and then chasing after little kids for the evenings and weekends, by the time I get to the stores, everything is picked clean and all that's left is whatever everyone else didn't want. Also noteworthy to consider IMO, the price isn't that hugely different than the Cook Island clams from a few months ago but whereas those were 1" in size, these are 6" and up. The value is incomparable.

At any rate - very nice new clams there. How many are you up to now? I think I'm up to 9. A far cry from the 14 I had at one point - but slowly climbing back up there!! I'm such a sucker for tridacnids..

Tony, was it that spawning event that caused the loss of your clams or something else? I can't remember.
Laurie. Nice score! Beautiful clams.

Thanks Tony and Lance. I'm up to a whole whopping two clams now I had one a long time ago that I sold cause my CBB developed a taste for it and one awhile ago that decided to commit suicide while I was in Calgary for a weekend, came home and found it upside down in the sand

He's still got one I do believe. I had a hard time walking away from it even knowing it wouldn't be happy in my 5 month old tank.

It might have been, hard to say. The last spawning event the clam did perish shortly after and that seemed to kick off a chain reaction that lasted a few months but they would basically let go one by one.

did you end up with one of those hippo clams that were around a couple years ago?
