I am a huge fan of both C2C and Bean animal systems. So much so we won't have a tank in the house that is any other configuration.
I have internal C2C (therefore small space utilized)with external Bean, main DT is inwall with fish room behind. Don't understant the comment that because it is inwall Bean not needed? The major advantage of a Bean system is "silent and flood-proof" I would want those features regardless of location.

My 8' - 300 gal is going to have a coast to coast, split in half ( 4' each side ) with 2 bean animal OF. I think I will be going 6"T x 4"D.
