I flooded my office last month with 5+ gallons during a sump-bulkhead test. Thankfully it was only freshwater, but I still had to pull everything out of the sump room and dry the plywood floor, underlay and carpet. And this only 1 month after new carpets.
My wife was pretty closed-mouthed about the whole thing. Needless to say she was not impressed, but at least it wasn't saltwater
thats the one thing im woried about is the conditionof the carpet under the tank im concerned there is mold i hope not but i wontknow untill imove thetank im just glad we dont have hardwood. onthe upside shecked the basment ceiling and no water marks.. the wife will be in a better mood this morning..
