christyf5 - it wasnt taking the full force of the powerhead, but it was right next to it. Then again its only a Hydor #1 powerhead.
I just broke the branch off as close as i could to the base, i somehow managed to pull it off the rock it was glued too (god dammit). I have it stuffed slightly lower into a hole in a larger rock getting medium water flow. Thanks for the quick replies guys. Ill see what happens.
