I'm hoping to find a trucker who makes the trip and may have an empty or half full load, I'm trying not to leave or sell the last of my stuff but not looking good i have ads on kijiji etc ... There has to be a better way some sort of something lol

Sure a train is that much? I shipped a car from Manitoba to Vancouver and it had it's own container all to itself and it was only like $900 or so.

I used the train to ship a steamer trunk from Calgary to Vancouver for a reasonable price.

Good luck, I've had friends make the move from Newfoundland to both Alberta and BC and its cost them upwards of $10K. Moving costs are insane, that $5K sounds like a sweet deal!

Have you thought about doing Uhaul but not leaving the truck in Newfoundland...instead taking back to the mainland where the drop-off charge might not be as big. Assuming Newfoundland is home.
