Just one more you say? Commuter hybrid bikes are built for speed on the streets, but still survive on light trails.

I ordered a Sedona LX from Giant (Cyclepath in Kelowna) earlier in the week. Really looking forward to it, and it was a decent price. (cheap)

Who did you deal with there? Dave hooked me up with a bike today. Really great guy. didn't push anything, and gave a variety of options to go with for things like pedals and such.

I deal with Gary the owner, or Matt (who is one of my sister's good friends). How much did you get that badboy for? :P

PS: you might soon regret a straight street bike after you ride the roads of Kelowna

I talked with Matt a bunch too. I was really surprised with that shop. a few that I went into when i lived in calgary were pretty snobby.

We will see about the roads. a few of the routes i have been eyeing up still have a bit of gravel on them, but there didn't seem to be too many cracks. we will see when i finally ride over them.

They are some very helpful laid back guys, that's for sure. And they really love what they do, and know their stuff.

Depends which areas of town you're biking in... some are better than others

I am up in glenmore so i was thinking of down glenmore drive (my gym is on harvy/glenmore). and maybe through sexsmith dr. I hear east Kelowna has some pretty good roads. and i will have to check out some routes along the water.

Dave/Matt was telling me about the saturday morning rides they do, so i will probably check out some of those for ideas/friends

I find the problem with a lot of the areas in Kelowna is how close between intersections are, and it's hard to find the sweet spot to not keep getting stopped. Depends if you're looking for a route to train on. But you're right, you can get to sexsmith from glenmore, and head down old vernon road behind the airport, and you can loop back on the highway. bike lanes the whole distance

There's a few different meet ups around kelowna for people who want to bike, the most interesting are the cruiser bike rides that start downtown in the summer
