i have first added with TAP wATER with the
RED SEA SALT i bought for a cheap price. Now i hve swtiched to IO TOO..  ay I know i cycled for 3-4 weks and then i added the salt let it go for another few weeks then, had a bad green hair from the crappy roc that i bought off this guy and he had it in the tank for 3 yrs and used tap water to.But then i bought a RO?DI unit and yea ha the greeen stuff went away in about 5 months alot of sucking and scraping out the green stuff. oh ya And yes doug in in wainwright ALBERTA TEACHING  ANd have acess to the net in my buddies room which is cool...
