Cant be done now. Its going to be a single stack overflow. Perhaps I will try the Hofer Gurgle Buster

I use a 1" stockman, its been running almost a year problem free. Just need a gate valve to tune it like any overflow.

I've got a 1.5" stockman on my tank, I was a bit creative about how I put it together but it works like a charm and is way quieter than the durso I used to run.

Thanks Christy. Perhaps thats what I will build then. The Hofer link looks interesting though.

scoobie, I have a dislike for valves on overflow outputs. Has to be quiet without one.

I second the HGB but use larger piping.

1.25" pipe
2" coupling
1.25" x 2" bushing
1.25" cap

These work best for smaller overflows or when space is tight. I also never use the tubing, I just drill a hole in the top just like a durso.

Could it not be made 1.5in. pipe? Although with only 600gph, I suppose I could reduce it to the 1.25in.

1.5" won't give enough clearance between the pipe and the coupling for flow, you're better off with the 1.25", you should still be able top to push around 1000 gph through it.
