![]() Wow, that's appaulling. Dorothy would probably be entitled to severance pay, she should look into that.

![]() Yes, I think the labour laws requires them to pay her severance &/or give her two weeks notice if she is being let go without cause (other than funding cut). Not sure, but she should really look into that.

There not really saying but I believe there was a bit more to it as well. About a month ago Dorothy got reprimanded for spending money on toys and supplies that we needed and wanted, it wasn't a lot of money but every so often (2-3 months) Dorothy would spend about $150-300 on toys and supplies for us. The company is running a bit of a deficit right now so spending is supposed to be kept to a minimum, however there will always be a need to new toys and new supplies in a child care center. I believe the cut backs may have given the company an excuse to "let her go". Sorry I should of mentioned it, but management did say that they came up with an agreeable severance package for her upon her departure. I did talk to Dorothy Friday night after everything had happened (to let her know how sorely missed she will be etc.) and needless to say she was still in a bit of shock about everything as well, especially as prior to this happening, she was very happy with her job and had no plans of leaving.
