Sorry to hear of your issues lorenz0, Seems to be a spring thing. double check your perameters, run carbon, and try and clip the pieces

I had a buddy of mine tell me, that when spring time comes that he sees a spike in his phospahtes.

I have been going through the same thing the past few weeks! Really sucks.

My ALK was low but even after raising it and everything looked ok, I have noticed today some more STN.

thanks guys, ya tomorrow is my day off so i am going to be a mad scientistwith the test kits. will post parameters.

also will probably pick up some carbon and run it in the phosban reactor since its not being used at the time. thanks for all the suggestions guys

But wow, weird to hear how alot of people are also getting stn right now... something is in the air and i am not liking it lol

Only time I have noticed Phosphates too is this spring.

Its undoubtably seasonal. I went back through my excel tracking sheet, and every year around this time something like this happens to me as well.

This year it was one colony, and half a colony.

OK.... so let's assume for a moment that this is something seasonal. What is the cause? Is it phosphates? Something else in our supply water? Temperature?
