When I was a kid, every year for christmas and my birthday my nana used to "adopt" an acre of South American (Amazon?) rainforest in my name. I no longer have the certificates, but I googled "adopt an acre of rainforest" and it looks like MANY options are available.

Somehow, maybe its just my festive spirit...but I am doubting this actually does anything for the rainforest unfortunately.
