 this monti is new but the base is purple with green polyps, for the past week it has been my fav. anyone on the name of it?

I can understand your fear, its such a beautiful piece.
Whenever I've seen cap coral fragging usually it involves people pulling the "leaves" back like when you pull leaves off a head of lettuce....

Colin it looks similar to what people are selling as "pokerstar" monti. I am not sure of the exact genus, I'll have to look it up.
Sweet piece of M confusa. Is that taken under actinics? Monti's are super easy to frag and heal up well. Just get the cutters out and hack away. I'll take one. Anything of mine you want to do a trade on?
