![]() trochus snails rock. they a part the same family as the turbos but they do not get too big. astraea snails are very good but mostly for diatoms, if you crop down your turf algae and drop in a bunch of trochus you'll be good

![]() I'll also cast my vote for trochus snails. All I have in my tank are trochus snails to eat algae, and nassarius snails to root through the substrate. I ended up moving my hermit crabs out of my tank, so my clean-up crew is just snails.

the big disadvantage is their size.
