I would say a 250W 1000K DE lamp would be adequate. I run a 150W 10000K on a 24"X18"X18" tank, and have complete coverage. This is with an Aqualight Pro so the bulb is about six inches above the tank. I just took a reading, and I get 3000 LUX right at the bottom of the tank. I get 7000 LUX at 15 inches from the top of the tank. At that point there is a Staghorn coral with nice blue tips..
This leads me to think that a 250W lamp should do well.
