I recommend you DIY some new clothes before moving. Something with built-in heaters and a chiller for the following day.

Living in the NE can be very entertaining if you enjoy laughing at Calgary's worst drivers (just about everbody is on there first day driving.) If you like to hike and exercise you could stretch your legs during the night by chasing people up and down the laneways after they break into your car.

I'm suggesting you look in other quadrants of the city for housing first.
