Can crushed oyster shell be used as a substrate?

Yes...I haven't even gotten that far yet. The tank was tested up to the level of the overflow box, but not beyond that. So, technically, the overflow area was excluded from this test.

Tank Drilled...now it's leaking...Help!
I had my 72 gallon tank drilled on Saturday.
The store did a really good job....however, close to the drilled area...just on the other side of the overflow...it is leaking.

I was thinking of doing the same thing....but...
I was thinking of doing the same thing....but then I ran into the problem of a load bearing wall. You can't really hack away at those load bearing supports.

Will 1/2 " floor board support a 72 gallon tank?

Trickle filters...what's good or bad with them
Perhaps someone can suggests features to look for in a good trickle filter, and what to watch out for. Any comments with regards to success without using a trickle filter are also welcome.
