My 300 is 30" deep and it is a bit of a pain to work in, I would not recommend going 36". My LEDs are doing great to this depth.

In Red Deer I would try McLevins or Alberta Industrial Metals.If your only looking for a small amout then I would go to McLevins first as I believe AIM has a min order limit of $200.

The issue with these pump power supplies is they run way to hot. the only way I have been able to keep them from failing is to put fans in front of the power supply to keep the temp in the low 20*.

I did a very similar thing as Parker but I cut the front frame out around my stand and used a PL400 adhesive to attach to the stand. Then attached the doors to the stand using European hinges.

Start with a steel stand Tai then you has something solid that will not deteriorate under your tank. Then its also easier to attach any panels to the stand easily.

Thanks for the input guys, I think I will have to just pull the trigger and order the Apogee par meter as it has the water proof sensor as well as a compensation guild to adjust reading for LED's.

I want to test what the output is on my diy LED's are but don't know what meter I need, a lux or par meter. I can get a lux meter from J&L for a lot cheaper then the par meter from Apogee.
