get a 8-12 inch piece of 1 1/2-2 inch abs or pvc with one end capped off,partly fill with some sand and stick it in your tank,wait a day or two so it will become accustom to it,then stick some food...

i made a base using pvc pipes and elbows and tees,then i zip tied some white landscapers cloth to the pvc(3/4" spaced 2" apart) this also keeps the sand above the glass
