all mine ever did was clean up the extra bristle worms i had.. he molted a couple times.. so he was eating well..
along with my dragon wrasse.. i dont see bristles anymore in that tank..

you can give your local coffee service a call and ask for a water shut off solenoid....its 120 volt... hookup in your water line(its 1/4 inch stainless fittings...wire to a light switch and you have...

air pump
whan i run an airpump i get no skim mate....
when i just run the ozone into the skimmer air inlet... i get decent skim a little lighter but still get some....don't have a probe for my orp meter so...

ballasts make more of a difference than most people know....more likely ballast difference than bulb...

guard for top
you can use GUTTER guard around the edge of your tank.. its 4inch wide plastic mesh from homedepot...$4 for a 25 foot roll
i use it to keep my lawnmower blennie in my tank.. he keeps jumpin out..

on a turbo skimmer you have adjustment on pump for flow....
and on canister you have adjustment for airflow....

really the only adjustment is water level which should be 1/2 way up the neck under the collection cup...
as well the airline should be...
