Default BUBBLE MAGUS 220. HELP

Hi everyone. I came home today to find my protein skimmer making a loud noise. Turns out my impeller on pump has broke into a million pieces. It's the EHEIM pump. Now I have looked online and the replacement piece is or seems to be very pricey. At 149.00 dollars plus shipping. Would anyone know where I could possibly get this cheaper. Any help would be great. As I can't go long with out it. Oh and I'm from Alberta.

thanks.

Not really sure. That's why I'm asking. It's for the bubble Magnus. So maybe that's why.

So I have been looking online for a replacement. It is a needle wheel impeller. It's pretty sad a guy spends 800.00 dollars on a product but can't find a replacement part. And when you do find one they want 150.00 dollars for it. When you can buy the pump for almost the same price. Someone must know where I could get one from. Does anyone else use the bubble magus 220. With the eheim pump. And how long can I go with out a skimmer?

I'm using the bubble magus 220CS. Coming up on 4 years with it. Have never needed to repair anything on it though.

Yes so have I. Apparently they don't import them anymore you have to get parts from the u.s they want 150.00 dollars plus shipping. I'm just hoping it does not happen again. Anyways. Does anyone know how long you can go with out a skimmer running until I replace the part. Thanks

I don't know how long you can go without a skimmer, but I've gone two weeks without one before. It really depends on your stocking level and tank make up. What do you have in your tank? SPS, LPS, softies? Mixed reef? Keep in mind that there are a lot of people run successful reef tanks without skimmers at all :-)

The only thing I did differently (when I was skimmerless) was to add an air stone to the sump to make sure the tank was well oxygenated. The loss of skimmer can make a huge impact on your oxygen levels. This may or may not be an issue to people depending on your stocking level. I also did more water changes (every 5 days) when my skimmer was offline.

Recently I went a week skimmerless while I was treating my tank with chemiclean.
