Default Electric Scooters

Im looking at buying a scooter for the girlfriend to get to and from work. Anyone know much about these? Which brands to avoid? Anything specific i should be looking for when going to view a used one?

lol thx

Reason im trying to go electric, I need one that doesnt require insurance or a licence. Looks like this is tougher than i thought. The only scooters available with no licence and no insurance appear to be "motor assisted cycles" with pedals.
