Default My other fish hobby Koi Pond.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A44l...e_gdata_player

This is a video of my 3000 gallon Like Pond. Majority of Koi are 20"+
Had a pond for years but this was my upgrade.

Nothing beats having fish inside to watch and huge fish outside in the summer to enjoy.
Anyone have any questions feel free to ask. Although these hobbys are similar they both are quite different in care and husbandry and keep me quite busy.
I believe I counted a little over 28 Koi in there now. Seems overstocked but with Koi Ponds they are quite resilient and my filtration backs up my stock load.

Here are some pictures as well. Mother nature still has lots of work to do to make it more natural.

Very nice! I assume you overwinter them outside? Curious about your lotus, do you over winter that outside too?

Yes everything gets wintered outside. It's the 3rd year for these Koi. Some baby's from this year that are now about 8" long will be their first year.
As far as plant same thing they stay out all winter as well. Only tropical type lilly pads and floating type won't survive our winters. I have nothing in this pond that won't come back in the spring.

Your pond looks awesome keep up the good work

A friend of mine has a koi pond that is scaled in depth from 2 feet to 8 feet deep 14 long 6 wide looks awesome but he doesn't winter his fish outside due to extreme weather in winter he has a 1200 gallon tank in his basement where the koi winter I think his biggest is just shy of 26 inches long

Mine get wintered outside. They seem to do quite well in the -30/-35 temps we see here even without a de-icer. Just keep the pump shooting to the surface to keep a hole open for them.
