If its the Bubble King Super Marine 250 then it's a good solid skimmer and worth every penny. $800 isn't bad either as retail is almost twice that. If it's been working without issue for 3 years it's likely to continue doing so as any defects would have surfaced by now. Pretty need it needs 8-10 inches of water level, the foot print can be setup in two options which should available on J&L website.

LEDs have the potential to save a little money and heat in the long run but ultimately your livestock will benefit more from the skimmer.

I would also pick the skimmer. I use that same skimmer and it is a beast, the light you have will allow you to grow anything for now so go with the skimmer

Skimmer for me is a vital part of a healthy reef. I am currently running the same skimmer on a 400 gallon total system and it does wonders. My vote is SKIMMER. You will not find a better deal.

Go with the skimmer. IMO clean water is more important than energy efficient lighting.

He has a Bbk250, which I think it's too small for his current system. And since bought his old 210 for a good price, he might as well sell me his BBK250 at a good price which he used in the 210gal.

I personally think, he needs BBK super deluxe 400
