Default Bubble algae removal

I was just curious if anyone has tried this with any success. I've got a bit of bubble algae but for the most part my couple of emerald crabs have done well in keeping it in check. But I have noticed 2 spots that the algae has grown into quite a large bubble and it's really in the rock so manual removal is all but impossible.
Has anyone ever tried taking a hypodermic needle to puncture and drain a bubble then remove the skeleton skin with tweezers?
