price drop on tank/stand and light strip.

36" dual bulb light strip was $50, now $40

Hexagonal 38 gal tank & stand was $150, now $125

159 GPH powerhead ($15) and air pump ($10) still for sale, but small enough that I don't mind throwing into my spare parts box.

Would that small pump be good for providing some additional flow for a refugium or would it chop up the little beasties?

What beasties do you have in mind? Amphipods, isopods etc... should be no better/worse than any other water pumps. This is a small and low flow pump.

With this intake design, only harm I can see is to wandering anemones getting their feet sucked into the intake... which is easily remedied (if applies to you) by cutting an X cross in a sponge (eg AquaClear filter step 1) and pulling the sponge over the intake cone shaped grill.

My bad, I mean to feed a raised refugium from the inflow area of the sump and was wondering just how much flow comes out, but I had a neuron glitch and asked the question the wrong way around.

I don't think you have to worry about it being excessively powerful.

it's rated 159 gallons per hour. Compared to Hydor's nano powerhead, which is comparable but rated 240 gph. So this will do the job, and you don't have to drop $40 on a new pump
