Default BK supermarine 250 working depth??

I was just wondering if anyone is using their 250 below the recommended 8-9" I was hoping to plant it at about 12". Any experiences?
thx

I have mine at just over 10" and it runs like a top. I've experimented with different depths (within reason) and it doesn't really make a difference as long as its tuned properly.

ETA: Sorry, just realized you asked for BELOW the 8-9"

You will need to remove the adjustment pipe completely to have it operating properly.

At 11"?
Is that from experience?
What depth is yours at?

Sub when I ran mine I ran it in 10" and tried it in 11 and 12" the key is that you are most Limey to find that move overflows will occur. This is from the water pressure out side of the skimmer. But it will run wet for you just letting ya know

Yes, from experience. When I had my 210, the water level was at 10. It was perfect. Now I am running the same sump on the new tank, the water is sitting between 11.5-12 inches. It's adjusted open all the way for perfect foam production, slightly wet. If you want to skim dry you will have to remove the tube completely which isn't a huge deal.

Mine runs perfectly at 10", I could try 11" and see what it's like if you want but why not worst case just stick something under the skimmer to lift it up 1", or do you have head clearance issues?

It's nothing clearance wise, my skimmer section is actually just over 12" deep so I think I need a stand. I just have my Bk 180 on a custom acrylic stand but the new Jumbo Skimmer won't fit on it. What do you use for a stand Sphelps?

No stand for me, dedicated separate sump for the skimmer and I set the water level to 10", but Ive build a few stands in the past for the purpose out of acrylic.
