Default led

i think the epistar leds are at the bottom of the list of leds-you don't say how big your tank is or how deep-which will affect your par.i didn't see any lenses on the unit but a 120 degree will cause a lot of light pollution.myself i stick to 60 degree.one light would do for a 28"x16" tank.the price isn't bad and at least it's dimmable

Thanks for the reply, Yeah forgot to mention my tank details. Its a 40g tall with 20 sump. I don't have many frags yet but I want to have options to grow most things. What do you mean by light pollution? Would this light have enough pennitration to make it to the bottem? This light would atleast be a good upgrade from my vho's right? Thanks

Default led

the light pollution is the spread outwards from the leds which spills outside your tank.with the amount of leds on the unit a tighter spread(60 degree) would not give a spotlight effect, and put more light into the tank itself.the par is reduced as the tank gets deeper.cree is the brightest for leds.it is a good upgrade, but other people have used vhos successfully.

Shane, spend the money on a vertex illumina. They are 30% off right now and you won't be disappointed. LED's are worth what you pay for them don't cheap out on them. If price is a major factor stick with T5 your corals will thank you.

Give me a call I can steer you in the right direction. Don't want to post this in an open forum. Adam
