Default Condensation jager Eheim heater

Is it normal? Just noticed condensation above the coil.

I had that once. Never did anthing about it as it was just a QT heater. One day I was QTing a PBT and it exploded, sparks flying and filled with water, black and nasty smelling. (Fish lived no worries) Not to say thats going to happen to you or that was the cause of my fail, but for the price of a heater just replace it. I swear by Ebo's thats the only one that ever failed me in about 18+ years of fish keeping. It was also about 5+ years old so who knows.

Also is it the new style of the old style? I picked up some new ones and they seem to have better construction now.

Had this happen to me as well, when I had a FW tank. The heater exploded one day with a dramatic puff of black smoke. No fish losses but it was a PITA to fish out the glass shards from a tank with a jumpy 20" silver arowana.

I'd throw it out or use it in your salt mixing tub instead.
