Default Firing lights for the first time

I've finally got my MH installed and fired the bulbs for the first time. It was a little worrisome because they didn't seem to light up all the way all at once. They kind of flickered and dimmed and went a lettle green and then evened out a bit.

Is this normal?

Jim

Yup, pretty much normal.

Oh good! I was beginning to worry. When do they settle down?

They should take about 5 minutes to fully light, depending on your ballast.

So far they come on flicker, go a little green, dim and then go dark. At this point I shut off the ballast and wonder if this is supposed to happen.

They are HITlite DE 250W 10,000K bulbs in Reef Optix III pendants firing off a Bluewave VII dual Ballast.

Well so far I can only keep them lit for 2 minutes. I'm thinking that this is not good.

Nope, doesn't sound good. Did you get these from sunlight supply? Maybe call Perry and ask what's up!

Got them from Jayson at SWC. I'll give him a call.

Thanks.
