Default Prepping Rubbermaid Trashcan Questions

I need to get a larger container for prepping NSW. In the past I have used a ~35g Rubbermaid trashcan with success. However, that was a long time ago and I don't remember if I prepped it in any way other than rinsing it out really well in tapwater.

Am currently using old salt buckets and Revy buckets for NSW, both of which I rinsed well in tapwater before using.

Should I do anything special to treat the trashcan before I add my RO/DI water, powerhead, heater and salt?

TIA

I just rinsed mine out with hot water and scrubed it a bit with a sponge.
