Kalk reactor users: how often do you clean?

Just curious ... how often do you drain out your kalk reactor and wash it out and start with fresh kalk?

I don't know if it's because I'm using old kalk, but I have a lot of precipitate accumulating. Thus I end up draining mine and cleaning and starting new fairly frequently.

Does monthly sound about OK? Too often? (Or not often enough?)
